about

First track from Sunscreen's debut EP 'Just A Drop', out 10th November through Spunk Records/Dinosaur City Records.

~~~~
A vocal collaboration between lead guitarist Alexander McDonald and lead singer Sarah Sykes, and an early instance of the band writing as a team, ‘Tide’ reflects contemplation over purpose and difficulty finding meaning as a young person in a big city.
‘Sometimes it is easy to feel powerless and without a sense of direction, like you are being carried and pulled by a current that’s beyond your control. This feeling can really hit the surface when you wake up after a night out; when at the end you’re left alone, with only your thoughts.’ - Alex (guitarist)
‘To me it’s a song about waking up to the sobering light of day, only to find that the idealistic bubble you’ve built up over the night before has burst, and a feeling of powerlessness over the direction your life is taking.’ - Sarah (lead vocalist)
